Inner eccentricity evolution. The evolution of the inner eccentricity on a timescale of 3 Myr. The timescale of the Lidov-Kozai cycles is a few kyr, such that the lines overlap in Figure 9. As the system evolves, the amplitude of the cycles reduces, until the system circularizes.
